You play as Arno Dorian, a rogue-turned-assassin, caught in a web of personal vengeance and political unrest. His journey isn’t as iconic as Ezio’s, but his story is intimate and morally gray—a welcome change of pace from the more grandiose narratives.

In terms of gameplay, Unity redesigned melee combat and parkour. For the first time in the series, the movement was fluent, particularly when descending buildings. Although many gamers felt the stealth mechanics still needed work, the combat system seemed tighter and more skill-based than its predecessors.
